HGA Provides Design and Engineering Services for Multi-station Battery Storage Project
Colorado
Project Description
Customer Challenge
The client, a confidential local power authority, needed to quickly execute a high-value battery storage project across multiple substations. Their biggest challenge was the lack of a designer to create the precise drawings required to procure materials and begin construction. With a hard deadline to bring all systems online before summer, they required a partner who could act quickly and accurately. HGA was selected for our deep expertise, ability to meet aggressive timelines, and long-standing relationship with the client. They knew they could rely on us to get it right the first time.
Our Solution
HGA delivered complete design packages for six battery sites, including detailed parts lists, build sheets, and site maps. We collaborated closely with the client and their engineering team to ensure the designs supported efficient, safe, and functional operations. We also provided guidance on build specifications and maintained frequent communication throughout the project, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner and enabling the client to stay fully engaged during every step of the process.
Value Delivered
All six battery sites were completed and are now fully operational, supplying stored energy to thousands of homes when needed. Our timely and accurate design work allowed construction to begin early enough to meet the critical summer deadline. This helped the client avoid delays, save money, and improve service reliability. The value we delivered was time. By accelerating the design phase, we enabled the entire project to succeed. These new systems now give the client greater flexibility and the assurance that when their members need power, it will be there.
