Technical Assistance & Training

HGA has provided technical assistance and training to CDBG-DR grantees on more than 40 different topics. Through the HUD Community Compass program, HGA has provided technical assistance to grantees and subgrantees in Alaska, West Virginia, Florida, and South Carolina for both the CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT programs. HGA’s FEMA experts offer technical assistance to applicants on the full range of FEMA grant programs. For example, HGA is currently assisting 32 HMA funding subrecipients in one state with all administrative, oversight, project development, reimbursement, and closeout activities—and with obtaining future grants.

Through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), HGA is part of a team delivering technical assistance and non-federal match support to local governments.

Staff Augmentation

HGA acts as a trusted partner to clients that require additional staff to assist with project and grant management activities. We use the experience and skill sets of our dedicated and committed staff to work hand in hand with our clients to provide support, resolution, and guidance through every step of the work. Our personnel serve as advocates for the client, ensuring that their programs follow appropriate state and federal guidelines and policies. We embed our experienced staff to ensure that we implement programs according to the client’s vision, with their desired outcomes.

Staffing Services

HGA has an in-house staffing division that allows us to rapidly staff disaster response contracts following an event. The staffing division maintains a roster of vetted, available staff, giving HGA the flexibility to ramp up or down as needed.
