This prestigious award recognizes outstanding employees who exemplify exceptional work ethic, dedication, leadership, and a deep commitment to HGA’s core values. As a company that thrives on collaboration and excellence, it’s fitting that the 2024 recipients are Mike Causey and Silvana Freeman—two individuals who have consistently gone above and beyond in their roles.
Mike Causey, Vice President – Strategic Development, has been an invaluable member of the HGA team since 2000. With a strong background as a civil engineer and registered Professional Engineer, Mike has played a pivotal role in the company’s expansion within the natural gas, chemical, and pulp & paper industries. His strategic insight and deep industry knowledge have helped forge lasting relationships and secure new opportunities for HGA. His leadership in developing the Owner’s Rep team and mentoring junior team members is a testament to his dedication to the company’s long-term success.

His mentorship of younger business development team members further demonstrates his commitment to HGA’s long-term success. Mike’s leadership, combined with his dedication, makes him an exemplary candidate for the President’s Distinguished Service Award.”
Silvana Freeman, Design Manager in CSA Ruston Engineering, has been a dedicated member of the HGA family since 2001. Known for her strong work ethic and commitment to HGA’s core values, Silvana has earned the respect of her peers and clients. As a mentor to both her department and others, she consistently leads by example, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the CSA Ruston Engineering team. Silvana’s ability to balance professionalism and hard work with a positive, engaging attitude has made her a beloved figure within HGA.
“Silvana is both sweet and spunky—holding everyone to a high standard while making sure that we have fun along the way,” said Trotter Hunt, who nominated Silvana for the award. “She has built a strong, supportive team and is always there to guide and encourage others, whether within her department or beyond. Silvana’s leadership style sets the tone for what excellence looks like at HGA, and her ability to connect with others is truly inspiring.”
