Mike Causey, P.E.
Vice President for Corporate Strategic Development
Mike serves as the Vice President for Corporate Strategic Development at HGA. With nearly three decades of experience working in the industry and private practice, he has developed skills that allow him to work closely with customers and partners to ensure lasting and mutually beneficial relationships. Working in a variety of roles as a project engineer, project manager, and in business development, Mike has developed key skills that help him work with clients to identify gaps that exist in their business and then help develop solutions to fill those gaps.
For more than 20 years Mike has served in a variety of business development roles helping to grow the company from 26 employees to more than 400 that are employed today at HGA. His current role is defining strategic markets, clients, and services that will position HGA for sustainable, consistent growth for the next 20 years. He has the commitment and a passion to help HGA continue to be successful.
Mike has worked in a variety of industries, including pulp and paper as a project engineer and maintenance superintendent, petrochemical in a similar capacity, as a design engineer for a small private civil engineering practice, and in a sales capacity for a pulp and paper service company.
Mike is very involved in the community through his church serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for over 25 years. He volunteered as a varsity football coach for 15 years at Cedar Creek School where his daughters attended. He also served on the Board of Directors for 8 years with the North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP) and as the Chairman of NLEP in 2019.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, an MBA from Louisiana Tech, and is a licensed Civil Engineer in Louisiana. Mike is an avid Louisiana Tech football fan. He played football on three conference championship teams and has had deep family roots in the Tech football program every decade from the 1950s through the 2000s.
Outside of work, Mike is the proud father of three daughters, two sons-in-law (so far), and one granddaughter that is awesome! He enjoys being around people, playing golf, watching team sporting events, hunting, and fixing “stuff” around the house! Mike lives in Ruston, LA with his wife, Angel, of 34 years.
