Jay Guillot
Senior Vice President
Jay is one of HGA’s founding partners; a team-oriented leader with 40 plus years’ experience delivering projects across multiple business sectors. Jay focuses on developing and strengthening HGA’s Program Management business which services the disaster recovery industry and provides owner representative services in support of industrial mega-projects.
He was instrumental in establishing the firm’s program management business. Under his leadership, this business has seen steady growth and now ranks as one of ENR’s top 50 North American based Program Management firms. Jay has played a key role in supporting the development and implementation of close to $20 billion in projects. Jay is a thought leader with competencies in strategic initiatives, project development, organizational development, owner’s representative services, engineering, client development and project approaches. Jay has worked with clients in manufacturing, petrochemicals, oil & gas, marine and the public sectors. He has supported project implementation both domestically and internationally.
Prior to HGA, he held engineering and leadership positions with Waldemar S. Nelson & Company, The Riley Company of Louisiana, and Hunt Plywood Company.
Active in his community and industry, Jay is a former elected member of the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, a former member of Louisiana Tech University’s Foundation Board and Engineering Board, is a Louisiana Engineering Society Life Member and has serviced his church in leadership positions. He has also earned several engineering awards in Louisiana, including Louisiana Engineering Society’s A.B. Paterson Engineering in Management Medal; the Louisiana Engineering Society’s F. Hugh Coughlin Young Engineer’s Award; and the Louisiana Tech Civil Engineering Outstanding Alumnus Award. Jay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Louisiana Tech University and earned his master’s degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1978.
Jay resides in Ruston, LA with his wife Susan. They have three adult married daughters, 3 grandchildren. Jay and Susan are active members of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston.
